Be His Biggest Fan (... and the Giveaway winners)

This was taken last fall... I am happy to say I have lost
20 lbs since! Oh, yeah!
A few days ago, I was chatting with a group of ladies, all of which were married and their husbands were on the other side of the room chatting.  I was alone, which was nice because that never happens -- but Ben told me he would watch the boys while I went and ran a few errands.

These ladies didn't know me very well, but since I am pretty friendly and chat with just about anyone that isn't super scary looking, they included me in their conversation.  Somehow the topic of "hot single men" came up.  Out of earshot of the hubby's, these ladies started talking about "hot single men" they see around campus.

"Hot guys like that either don't get married, or they marry models.  Real women like us... well, we don't marry 'hot' guys," one of them said.  We all involuntarily looked over at the group of men, who were laughing about something and looking a bit dorky.  I inspected them for the first time.  They were average guys, a little out of shape, but nice and normal looking.  And according to their wives, they were "marriageable" types.  I started to get this little tickle on the back of my neck that I get when something doesn't feel quite right.  So I spoke up:

"I disagree.  My husband is smoking hot!"  All eyes were now on me... and since this has happened before, I didn't let the unbelief I saw there bother me.  "Seriously, he is really good looking... AND super ripped too."  And I meant every word of it.  Whether or not they believed me, or would think so if they saw him, matters very little to me.  Because to me, he is the sexiest man alive.  Shouldn't every wife feel that way about their man?

We should be our husband's biggest fan!  His number one cheerleader.  His muse and inspiration.  I love that saying, and I forget who said it and the wording exactly, but it says something to the effect that we should treat our husbands (or wives) the way we want them to feel and be.  If you want your husband to feel like a king, treat him that way.  (The same goes for men and the way they treat their wives...)

When Ben and I first met, I didn't met "the perfect guy" -- in fact, I thought he was too skinny.  But I saw his potential, the man that I knew he would someday be and that was it, I was lost.  I always trusted him to make good choices, and I would talk to him about things I didn't feel right about.  Ben has always listened to me and took my advice when he felt I was right.  He has also done things I was a little against at first, but I would quickly learn that I was wrong sometimes too.

We grow together, and we change together.  We have been great companions on this road of life and been on many adventures together over the last seven years.  And everyday I fall more and more in love with him... and in my eyes, there is no better looking man.  My heart still skips a beat or two when he walks in the room after being gone all day (and even more than that when he is in uniform).

I looked at those young wives (all of which were fairly newly weds and had no kids) and I made a secret wish for them.  That they would grow to see those husband's of theirs like I see mine.

I think those ladies have some growing up to do. You definitely want to see and treat your spouse the best, no talking bad about them. How would you feel if your husband was talking about "hot" women and that he didn't marry one of them? How sad.

My hubby is definitely in the #1 slot for hottest guy ever. We've been married 4 1/2 years and our marriage just gets better and better. When we were engaged he said something to the effect that we didn't know what love really was. That's because it's a living thing that grows exponentially. I still have room to love my children as each one comes along and love my husband just as much and more than before. It just gets better the more we're together. :)

Aw, it's sad that those wives don't see their husbands as hotties that make their hearts melt. Mine sure is! I keep waiting for his glasses prescription to be adjusted and realize that I married UP! ;) haha Love that man. <3

I am totally shocked by this! It makes me wonder if they expect their husbands to find them attractive, you know? I am very proudly married to a hottie!

I have been in similar situations as yours, and it breaks my heart when I hear wives talking about their husbands in such a demeaning way. Beyond breaking my heart, it outrages me. Why did they marry him then, if they are so "disgusted" by him? I am proud to say that my husband is the most handsome, hottest, most amazing man that has ever walked the planet! We're going on three years of marriage now, and I love him more and more every single day!

Tonight, our church group had a get-together where we did an introduction game. In it, we had to say something we knew/thought our spouse liked about us. My husband stumbled when it was his turn to answer that question, because he was embarrassed. (He didn't want to say anything too personal and what-not, and he just felt embarrassed to be in the spotlight.) After a long pause, I blurted out, "He's so stinkin hot!!" Everyone laughed, and he immediately blushed. I'm not afraid to let people know that my husband is the hottest man alive. I can't resist him! Hence, why we weren't able to wait the recommended month (after my miscarriage) before having sex again. Btw, the answer my husband did end up giving was very true and is definitely one of my favorite things about him. He plans special nights for us, arranges for the babysitter and everything. He also leaves me sweet little notes in the morning a couple times a week, saying things like, "Hey beautiful, I love you so much! I can't wait to come home to you today!"

Love is beyond skin-deep. It's his heart, commitment, and everything in-between. The more you see how special your man is and treat him in such a way, the handsomer he'll be. I always thought my husband was hot, but now he HHHHHHOOOTTT! I can only imagine how many more H's, O's, and T's will add to that with many more years of marriage. Oh baby!

I love this post! My husband is pretty darn overweight (like me) and do you know what? I tell him all the time how 'hot' he is. I tell him in detail all the things I love about him that make him so attractive to me. And it's true. That man would walk through fire for our family (and, figuratively, he has). What could possibly be hotter than that?

yep my hubby is smokin' hot - and over 40 :) and i love his litte extended belly - cause that means he loves my cooking....his arms are strong and built and i love his chiseled chin - and i love the fact that last weekend when we went away alone for the first time since we have been married in 24 years - he snapped a picture of me at dinner and posted it on facebook telling everyone he was having dinner with his "beuatiful" wife - i am sure others like me could see my second chin peeking out or the fact that my big ol boobies looked like they were resting on the table - and you could definitely see that i had some major gray showing in my hair and need to get it colored again - but you know what? he told 272 friends on facebook that i was beautiful :) and yep he is smokin' hot!

I love this! Can I just say that I think my hubs is the hottest man?! OK, I'm going to let you know that I did have a "list." You know, the 5 celebs that if I were to ever meet, it would be allowed to "cheat" on your spouse with, should you ever get to meet them. However, after marrying my hubs, and realizing how perfect and wonderful he is, I could never imagine even kissing another man. Blech. The thought of it grosses me out now. I guess that's what happens when you meet and marry the man of your dreams, huh?
I just found your blog, and I just started up a new blog myself. I'm looking forward to reading more from you! Thanks for sharing!
