The funny thing about the holidays is that if you are seen buying broccoli and other healthy food, people often look at you like your a holiday scrooge. I mean, come on, who eats HEALTHY in December! Indulge a little!
Then hits the New Year, and when buying that same healthy food, suddenly, you get Joe-Ugly-College-Kid snickering and saying things like: "I know what your New Year's resolution is!" Cue inward gasp of utter horror. (This actually happened to me the other day). I seriously felt like channeling my inward Kung-Fu-kick-butt-want-to-be-moves and making his New Year's resolution to "get that fixed."
Instead, I chuckled nonchalantly and said, "Yeah, I am bound and determined to get my kids to eat their vegetables this year." Then I hurry off as to avoid the "I don't get it... or she doesn't get it.." look.
So now, I am sending Ben to the store to get all our healthy food... no one questions those muscles!
Meanwhile, I am avoiding the gym. Have you ever tried to go to the gym in Jan or Feb? What a freaking waste of time! There are so many people packed in there, that you sit around most of the time waiting for your turn. No way! With a hubby and 3 kids at home, I have no time to wait for So-and-so who probably won't be here come March to get off the treadmill.
I start my gym work out in March. Much safer for everyone involved.
Meanwhile, I am pumping it up, or planning to, with Ben and our old friend P90X. Which reminds me that I never posted my 90 day photos.... and I can't seem to find them. But I DID finish the program and I will be posting them when I find out were I put them.
So basically, I don't really make New Year's Resolutions. I am always trying to improve myself. I do, however, like to make New Year's GOALS. There are some things I would like to do this year. One of which is teach myself to knit... but with things going how they are, that might have to wait until this spring when hat sales slow down.
AND I am bound and determined to get to my goal weight. I have a little more weight to lose (one pant size) to get to my pre-pregnant weight... then I have 30-35 more to lose after that to reach my body type ideal. It is going to happen... just "weight" and see! So, I will being bringing back Fat Butt Friday! Yay!
