A Few Things Worth Mentioning

Things have been a little crazy around here lately.  Between going back to school (Ben and Sam), starting my site, potty training Nephi, and everything else in between -- I haven't gotten around to writing this post. And to my dear friends who sent me some really cool items to review, I deeply apologize for my procrastination.

First off I want to point you toward Projects for Good.  This organization started to help Military personnel and families in need.  How they do it, is that they sell coins in beautiful boxes or glass cases.  But they aren't any old coins, they are unique Iraqi coins.

Here is what their website says:

"Using liberated Iraqi coins that symbolize freedom and the sacrifices made in order to preserve it, we developed a line of products that enable everyone to honor our men and women in uniform.
We are determined to donate $20,000,000 to military charities that support our wounded, disabled and fallen heroes and their families.
We help create jobs for the mentally and physically challenged individuals who assemble our products right here in the United States."

For more information, check out their site.

They kindly sent us one of these coins to pass on to a service member in the family, and I can attest that they are beautiful!

Another site that rocks, is  They sent me this email a couple months ago:  "As you may know Fujifilm is a proud supporter of military families through its sponsorship of Homes For Our Troops and Soldiers' Angels. As such, we would like to offer you a free photo coffee mug from Fujfilm's improved photo sharing and gifting site,"

So off I went to design my own mug.  I thought it would make a great Christmas present for Ben from the boys.  I had them put that picture of him and the boys in their Army gear in the grass (see my header).... and it turned out fantastic!  So I just wanted to give them a big shout out of Thanks!!

And last but not least, I just had to share with you my new hat design.  The Sock Monkey Hat.  Now, ever since I started crocheting and looked at the other stuff etsy had on there, I feel in love with the Sock Monkey Hats.  But my problem was, that there wasn't a specific one I liked EVERYTHING about.  I liked parts of all of them, but I really wanted mine to look more like the Sock Monkey doll than most of the hats did.  So after a couple weeks of thinking about it, I finally sat down and tried it out.  I have to admit, that I was more than thrilled when it turned out better than it was in my head.  Can't wait to try it out on my little guy!!!

Here is the link to my shop if you want to check it out!

Have a great week everyone!
