2nd Annual Homemade Halloween Costume Contest!!

Since I had such a great response to this contest last year, I decided that I really wanted to do it again!  When I check my blog history, I notice that aside from my challenge announcements, my number one post that people look at is my Best Homemade Halloween Costume Contest from last year.  So here we are again!  I can't wait to see what people enter this year!

There will once again be a prize (to be announced later on). If you would like to donate a prize, please contact me.

I will be accepting pictures until October 24th at 11:59 pm (Mountain Standard time).  Voting (that's right, YOU get to vote!) will be the 25th to the 31st of Oct and the winner will be announced on Nov 1st.

UPDATE!!!!!  Now accepting pictures until Saturday the 30th!!!!

I wanted to warn you all to get your pictures in early!!! To enter my Best Homemade Halloween Costume Contest, you need to do the following:

Email me: a picture along with a short description.

That's it! My email is: nutsinanutshell(at)gmail(dot)com

Remember: It has to be homemade! No cheating! And don't forget to tell me about it, sometimes the story behind the costume is BETTER than the costume! You can enter as many entries as you would like.  And repeats from last year don't count... sorry!  Good luck everyone and I can't wait to see your creativity!! Here are a few of mine from the past:
Redneck & Alvin of the Chipmunks
Thomas the Tank Engine with little engineers.

This year, as most of you know, I just don't have the energy to make their costumes.  So I ordered them online... some little camo ACU's.  But don't think that isn't going to stop me from adding things to it!!!  Coming soon: name tags, shoulder flags, and pretend ranks (like a happy face or something).

The winner from last year:

Can't wait to see what comes up this year!!!  Good Luck!!!

So...I am making my kids costumes this year but I have to buy some of the stuff...does that still count as homemade??? One of them is a character from a movie but I am going to be making the whole thing. And making their treat bags too...hope I can pull the whole thing off :)

Yes, you can have store bought stuff with it. Like you can see that I made the thomas but the outfits the boys are wearing are thriftstore put togethers. And that stuff is fine too. I just want to see the creativity out there!
