He's gone... Party Time!

Okay, so maybe I am exaggerating a little... or a lot. Alright, you caught me. I cried when he left. I'm talking Niagara Falls, baby. But then I sucked it up, and put on my mommy smile for the boys, who have no idea what is going on. It's just as well, really. Being the little guys they are, I don't think this will be as hard for them, and they most likely they won't remember it.

As for me, I am going to be great. I think I have been preparing for this for a long time, and have things pretty much under control. Besides, Ben introduced me a new friend to keep me company while he is gone. Her name is Wii. And she is "Fit." We're going to work out together everyday, since I have to cancel my gym pass -- can't use it now with no one to watch the kids in the early morning. I have eight months to get skinny while Ben is gone -- but I will talk more about this in another post.

There are a few directions I would like to go with this blog, and I am super excited to introduce a few new things as I go along. Also we will keep you updated on our adventures -- mostly funny stuff. So pop back often to see what we are up to.

As for the next few weeks, I am taking the kids down to the family farm for a while to see the grandparents. Try to keep our minds on other things while we are getting used to this new change. I think it will be good for us all. There is nothing like spending the 4th of July in a small town -- that's a post in itself...

Some Random Notes:

Don't forget, we still get the 15% off coupon code for www.shabbyapple.com until 31st of July: nutsinanutshell15off. I have a few product reviews and giveaways coming in the next month I think everyone will really like.

Also, our readership here is doing awesome! I would still like to feature some of your blogs for the month when I get to 200 followers -- I want to make it worth it -- and I even made a super cool award to give my featured bloggers. Trust me, it's really original... LOL.

I apologize for the boring post today, but it's really hard to be funny right now. I know you all understand, you're the best. Tomorrow I will be back to myself as I continue to report my nutty adventures.

Have a great day!!!

You'll be an awesome Army Wife - I know it! And if you have a rough day just call Gertie, I'm sure she'll help out. That's what friends are for.

Getting away for little while sounds like a great idea. Also having a goal of working out and getting in shape during the time Ben is away, will help make the time less lonely. Goals make time go faster. Hang in there. {{hugs}}

My thoughts are with you and your family! My brother is in Iraq right now, and I know how hard it is for his wife. I hope that the time flies by and he's home before you know it :-)

Hell, I'd still be bawling. My husband worked offshore and would be gone for two to three weeks at a time. That is in no way a comparison to what you're dealing with! I hope this time flys for you, and he'll be home soon.

For a minute there, I thought you said you were taking the kids to the funny farm instead of family farm! Hmm.

HUGS! I would be crying and having a panic attack right about now! You are very strong to choose to endure this. Ever since I heard the news, you have been in my thoughts every day!

More Hugs!

wait, I just had a though, I am curious if, since Ben was the student and you are living in Student housing, you will have to move since Ben is goin to be out of school for 8 months or how is that going to work out, just curious cause if you had to move by yourself with those 2 boys of yours, well I know that would be adventure after adventure, all very much worth reading about. But then again I hate moving so hope you don't have to move.

either way, good luck and best wishes, I know it will be like no time and you will be saying he is on his way home.

In answer to Megan's question, we do get to stay in student housing because Ben is gone for military reasons so they let us stay. I am glad! I would HATE to move!

Right now I am waiting for Ben to call and tell me he got there safe.

It's not boring. It's what you are going through right now. It's perfectly fine with me if you want to use YOUR blog to express your sadness. I know exactly how you feel.

From one who knows the first two weeks are the hardest well, except for thr last 3 hours they take longer then the rest of the time he is gone. After a few weeks you get into your groove and life becomes the new normal.

Best of luck. and remember it is ok to sleep before midnight.

No worries on feeling sad. I think the separations like this are the hardest. Have a great time visiting and I hope it rejuvenates you and gets you through the tough parts in the beginning.

I don't know how you were able to do it; watch him go..... But, then I know it's something you had to do.

My best to your Hubby off at training and you and the boys. Enjoy the family time...

In the meantime, enjoy the Wii -- Fit! Hope she's good to you!
