Wacky Weekend Recap

I am officially in mourning! Totally depressed. I couldn’t even gather the strength to shower or do my hair. Instead, I stayed in my bathrobe all day and stuffed my face with carrot sticks! Don’t laugh, I ran out of chocolate! I haven’t left my house today; all because… ready for this? I lost a follower!! AHH the anguish, despair, the self-deprivation! All because some person out there doesn’t want to read what I have to say anymore! There is someone out there who doesn’t think I am funny! Stop crying, it’s okay, I know you won’t leave me… RIGHT!? Oh, thank you, thank you! I KNEW I could count on you!

Okay, don’t worry, I am TOTALLY over it. No problem. I’m not even going to think or mention it again. Do you think it is because I’m not crafty? Or don’t do giveaways every week? There I go again… sorry. Won’t talk about it again.

Anyhow, here are a few highlights of our weekend:

Ben finished his last final for the semester on Friday, YAY! So to celebrate we took the boys to a train museum. They absolutely loved it!
They even let us play in a caboose. (Do you think I am TOO funny? Maybe they were jealous of my talent to make people roll their eyes and question my sanity).
Nephi was determined to drive it somewhere. But, sadly despite his best efforts, we didn’t move… not even an inch. (Do you think my optimism is annoying? Should we all be depressed and complaining because life is soooo hard and unfair?! Or it could be my blog design, or strong desire to blog-to-write not to win prizes. Is it wrong to want to be followed and loved just for my writing? Isn’t that what blogging is all about?). Moving on now…

We had a new neighbor move in upstairs this weekend. And boy is he loud! Swishing and stomping sounds all night long! Good grief! We didn’t know what all the commotion was upstairs until we were playing outside Saturday morning. We looked up and our new neighbor was watching us play from his second floor balcony.
So much makes sense now! Maybe he’ll recruit my kids. That’s all I need. Nephi with a glowing weapon and Sam moving stuff around with his mind… I don’t think so.

Holy Cow! I just figured it all out! I know why I lost a follower! It wasn’t me at all… or my blog. It was DADDY NUT!! They signed on as a follower thinking that they could make the moves on my man, and when they realized they had no chance… Yeah, that’s probably what happened.

{Sorry, girls, this guy is my NUT!}

I feel so much better now! I think I will go take a long bath with a good book and a nice cold Diet Coke…

*BANG* *CRASH* Dang, it’s that new neighbor at it again! Anyway, have a great day!

Oh, and don’t forget to stop by tomorrow. I am announcing my Mother’s Day giveaway, and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Congratulations Catherine! You won the new sling from Modern Mamaz for having the funniest mom story! Seriously, flashing a Bishop?! No one else stood a chance with a story that ends that way! :)

I always tell myself that the followers probably shut down their blog and that's why they're gone. I mean who would go through the trouble of actually un-following someone. Rude. I resent that. And yes...sad indeed. It's their loss though right!!?!! RIGHT???

Thinking about Sam moving things with his mind made me laugh. I think you're dead on about the lost follower, too. :o) How did I miss that story Jennie is talking about? I want to read it!

More Nuts in a Nutshell for me. Yeah!!! And, I want to know this story Jennie is referring to as well. Come on... cough it up. Maybe you'll gain your follower back. Nah!, if they didn't love your other stuff, well, then it's their problem.

You're so funny. I love my Mama Nut.

Okay, not that your story wasn't funny about flashing the bishop, but I was hoping for a little more. Sad, I know. Still funny. That sling looks awesome. You deserve it.

Don't worry about the lost follower, their loss!

Oh, you KNOW it was pure jealousy- of you, your writing skills, your man- all of it was too much to handle so she left. [It was a "she" right?] That's okay- I'm a better "follower" and I'm on board for LIFE! How's THAT for loyalty- And I'm UPS-ing you a box of kleenex and a lovely bath soak immediately...no more tears!
And it's nice to know that you got something else out of flashing the Bishop than just a red face! ;)

You are too funny. I wish I could express my stories with humor like that. I almost lost it when you mentioned your new neighbor & the picture. My 2 boys are Star Wars "nuts". Hey, I'll be a follower!!

That was a funny story. Thanks for the link.

So, I think Nuts in a Nutshell is hilarious! What I want to know is, what tickles your funny bone? Any favorite movies or jokes you want to share?

Haha - love your reasoning there. I always wonder what happened too when I see a follower has left... their loss, not yours!! You've got some funny stuff here =)

Hey, don't worry about it. A lot of people don't even use Google reader so your follower could have just switched to another reader. Think of all the followers out there that you don't even know about because they don't fit into the Google Follower widget peg.
